Christmas is coming! And so is the end of the semester!!!!! So take a breather from the stress and studying... ON SUNDAY DEC. 13th AT 11:30am at Our Redeemer's College Room FOR A CHRISTMAS PARTY AND LUNCH.

Bible Studies--Every week at 6pm in the College Room at ORLC. Sunday Nov. 8th---- ++++We got home cooked food waiting for you to devour after the 10:30am service at Our Redeemer in the College Room Downstairs. Stick around for some food, fellowship, and fun. ++++Also the Christian Duo "Lost and Found" will be playing at Concordia College at 7pm for only $7 and a can of food. Interested? Comment below! Sunday Nov. 15th---- ++++MSUM will hold their choir concert at ORLC @ 7:30pm. We could use some LSF students to help serve refreshments. Interested? Let Pastor Ted know.

Keeping you upto date

This fall we have spending a lot of time in conversation and action around the issue of living out our faith in tangible ways. Earlier this fall we participated in Homeless and Hungry. And this Thursday we will help with "Project Homeless Connect" at the Fargo Dome. This is an opportunity for agencies to connect with those who are homeless and to serve them by meeting health care needs and etc. Also this Wednesday we will continue looking at what America's views of Christians. Are they on target? What would they say about you and me? Sunday at ORLC after each service (8am and 10:30)college students can take home several fresh baked cookies. So come to "Cookie Sunday". Sunday you can also sign to be "adopted" by an ORLC family who cares for college students and want to provide a family-like atmosphere for you while your away from home. This Week

I hope your week is going well. I just wanted to catch you up with the happenings in LSF and don't forget to keep watching the blog at lsfmoorhead.blogspot.com for the latest. 1. This Sunday, October 11th we will gather at Our Redeemer Lutheran for a free lunch after the 10:30am service downstairs in the college room. Stay, eat, play some board games, and get to know some other college students. 2. We just finished participating in Homeless and Hungry. It was an effort to raise funds and donations for the 7 shelters in the FM area. 3. We continue to have bible study on Wed. evenings at 6pm at ORLC's college room. We working through a video series about real life Christianity by Rob Bell called Nooma. Check it out online if you want a preview. This week we are taking a break but we will begin a gain on October the 14th. 4. We are looking for a trip during Spring Break to go and serve somewhere such as Gulf Coast, Canada, or etc. If you have ideas or interest email back and let us know. Have a great week! The Run-Down

Sunday, Sept. 27th- Free Sunday Lunch!!!! After the 10:30am worship service at ORLC join the whole congregation in potluck style lunch (college students only bring yourselves)! Wednesday, Sept. 30th- Life is Full or Is it empty? How can we impact ourselves and well the communities in which we live? Come tackle those questions at our Bible Studygathering at 6pm in the College Ministry Center (downstairs) at ORLC. ALL ARE WELCOME!!!! Saturday, October 3rd- Join us in making in impact on the Homeless and Hungry population of F/M! We will camp in boxes overnight at MSUM to raise money and awareness and then join us for worship on Sunday! "The Tough" Questions

World history has shown from even the 1st century that very difficult social and cultural questions arise. Now in 2009AD issues may include poverty, social injustice, environmental responsibility, global footprints, human rights, human trafficking, and sexuality. Too often in recent history the American church has not joined in the conversation, but that is not the case any longer. There is a resurgence occuring!

And at ORLC this weekend that resurgence continues. We will wrestle with what Scripture says in regards to Homosexuality. What does it say concerning sexuality? How are we to engage with society and culture concerning the issues of sexuality?

Come join in the conversation at 9:15am on Sunday, September 13th and Sunday, September 27th in the fellowship hall downstairs. (Sunday the 20th hear from a Missionary serving in Sudan)

Wed. Night Gathering

This Wednesday Night 6pm at Our Redeemer in the College Room. A discussion and video concerning "Meaningless Rituals or Our Hearts."

9/2 @6pm Bible Study at ORLC in the Campus Minsitry Center... "God are you listenting?" 9/6 @9:30 Worship at ORLC 9/12 @5-7pm Cobber Days at CC. Volunteers needed or Come by and see us! 9/13 Worship time change to 8am and 10:30am. Free Meal after 10:30pm Service in the CMC. Future: Homeless and Hungry... Do you want to help those less fortunate? Do you want to experience what it is to be homeless and hungry? How about joining us in an effort to curb this problem in the F/M area where it is estimated that 1000 are homeless each day.

CHANGE regarding Thursday Nights

We don't like making too many changes, but it happens sometimes....Due to some scheduling complications we are changing our weekly Thursday night Gathering to Wednesday nights! Yes Wednesdays @6pm. This will start next week! So Wednesday Sept. 2nd will be our next midweek gathering. After September 13th that will also allow you to get dinner at the church prior to our gathering and catch worship after our gathering!

Hey after the 9:30am service tomorrow. We will have a lunch for you! So come to worship and stay for some grub!

Thursday Gathering

Come out to LSF this Thursday 8/27 at 8:30pm to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church (ORLC) for a time Christian fellowship and conversation revolving our faith and life! We will begin with a series (Nooma) that challenges us to consider what it means to live out our faith in the midst of our everyday lives.

We will gather in the Campus Ministry Center at ORLC. From MSUM south on 14th street two blocks to ORLC. Continue straight on 14ave. until you meet the blacktop driveway which heads to the back of the church. There you will see the entrance for the Campus Ministry Center (CMC). Come in and head down the stairs to the CMC. Hope to see you there!

This Sunday: After 9:30am church there will be a free lunch provided, so come to worship and stay for some grub!

If you are new to Moorhead, Welcome! Lutheran Student Fellowship (LSF) is also new to blogging. And the first blogger (Pastor Ted) is also new to Moorhead and the blogging sphere. So at least we are all in similar company. And by the way LSF is not just for Lutherans it was started by them. LSF at its core seeks to be a community of college students who have a passionate desire to impact their campuses and community with Jesus! We are an open community who is seeking to be a community is is exploring what it means to liveout our Christian faith everyday with everyday people. We value community, God's Word, and serving our neighbors! We are active at Moorhead State University, Concordia College, and beginning at Minnesota State and Community Technical College. We give thanks to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church (ORLC) who is a host congregation for LSF. ORLC loves students and would love to help you have a home away from! This blog will serve a number of purposes. 1. It will be a communication tool to dispense information about our gatherings. Checkout the information on the right to see our regular gathering opportunities. Those are just a few of what is to come. 2.
